Shipping & DOA Policy

We ship corals with care using overnight shipping to ensure they arrive healthy and stress-free. All orders are packed with insulated materials and temperature control when needed. In the rare event of a DOA (Dead on Arrival), customers must contact us within the stated time window with clear photos for review. Our full shipping and DOA policy is outlined below to ensure transparency and a smooth buying experience.

Shipping Information

All corals are shipped via overnight shipping to minimize transit time and stress. Orders are packed with insulated materials and temperature control when necessary based on weather conditions.

Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Acclimation Guide

  1. Float Sealed bag/container in your aquarium for 15-20 minutes to match temperature.
  2. Open the bag/container and place coral + shipping water into a clean container.
  3. Slowly add small amounts of tank water over 20-30 minutes (about 1/4 cup every 5 minutes).
  4. Discard shipping water and move corals to the tank

Tip: Start in lower light and moderate flow, then adjust gradually over the next few days.

Dead on Arrival (DOA) Claims

A coral is considered DOA if it arrives deceased upon delivery.

To be eligible for a DOA claim, the following conditions must be met:

  • Claims must be submitted within 2 hours of delivery
  • Corals must be kept in the original sealed bag until photos are taken
  • Clear photos must be provided as outlined below
  • Claims must be emailed to darrensoceantreasure@gmail.com

Claims submitted outside the required time window or without proper documentation may be denied.

Required DOA Photos

All DOA claims must include clear, well-lit photos of:

  1. The coral still sealed in the original bag
  2. The coral removed from the bag
  3. The coral next to the shipping label
  4. Any additional photos that help show the condition of the coral

Blue or white reef lighting is acceptable. Photos must be unedited.

Resolution

Approved DOA claims will be issued as store credit equal to the purchase price of the affected coral(s).

Store credit does not include shipping costs and has no cash value.

Exclusions

The following are not eligible for DOA coverage:

  • Claims submitted after the stated time window
  • Missing or unclear photos
  • Corals removed from bags before photos are taken
  • Losses due to delayed delivery, missed delivery attempts, or carrier errors
  • Losses related to improper acclimation after arrival

Weather & Seasonal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to delay shipping during extreme weather conditions for the safety of the livestock. By placing an order, the customer acknowledges the inherent risks of shipping live animals.
